Jay-Em Aerospace incorporated in 1961 as a general machine shop, supporting local aircraft wheel manufacturers. The company soon purchased a proprietary wheel and brake product line from the General Tire Company in Akron, Ohio. This fueled Jay-Em's growth and the company quickly became well known in the military wheel and brake markets. Machining services expanded to support automotive, aircraft, oil and gas drilling equipment, tire testing machines, hydraulic compression molding presses, calendars and mills for the rubber and plastic industries, and paper conversion equipment.
